Video Marketing Not Working For Ya?

It’s tough when you’re the one responsible for spending the budget. Your boss expects you to make the right call. What’s on the line? Your next year’s marketing budget. That A LOT of pressure. I don’t envy you. And I also don’t blame you for making “safe” choices. This is why you get the same old marketing videos. Fear. That’s a horrible motivator.

So, what’s the solution? You know it’s time to take some chances. Think outside the box.

Really, as I see it, the one risk of making something creative is that it doesn’t end up working. If you have a good product or service, I honestly don’t think you’d take a hit, because those mediocre ads aren’t probably doing much if you looked at the numbers (unless you do something way off the mark of your audience, ahem, Pepsi and Kendall Jenner, and more recently, Bud Light). But hey, even in those situations your name is being talked about in every sandwich shop across town. Chances are you're a bit smaller brand than Pepsi or Bud Light, so it’d be amazing if everyone was talking about you.

Most people click past ads on YouTube, and don’t pay attention to the ones on this new version of streaming with ads (i.e. regular tv for anyone over 30). So why not try to make something different that stands out that’s not footage of diverse office workers in an office, probably a conference room, shaking hands, smiling laughing, and a voiceover about how “we’re different and we care”. Yes, I’ve made lots of these, and I’M SICK OF IT! (Just kidding, please still hire me, I’m here to be paid if you want to still make them.) All joking aside, I want you to be successful, which is why I write these things, plus I like to get work too.

Here it is plain and simple…

  1. If you want to stand out, you have to try new things

  2. When you try new things, you can sometimes fail, which I think is also known as growing

  3. But your wins could be as Will Ferrell said in Elf, “GINORMOUS”

  4. And if you get a big win, you could get a bigger marketing budget

What made you get into marketing in the first place? I’m sure your creativity had to do a lot with it. So let’s use that gigantic genius brain of yours and make some viral videos.

As always, me and my team are here to help you succeed, however that looks for you. Please reach out if you’d like to have a chat with our creative team. We’ve been doing some pretty cool stuff lately that we will soon share.
